From June 2024 to June 2025, our customer DEME Group installed 61 wind turbines off the French Atlantic island of Noirmoutier, with a total capacity of 496 megawatts – enough to supply around 800,000 people with electricity.
A key tool in this process was our Upending Tool, operated by our service technicians. Over a twelve-month period, it reliably erected the monopiles, even under demanding conditions such as stormy seas and drilling into rock up to 27 meters deep.
Our conclusion:
-
The Upending Tool has once again proven to be a reliable lifting device for offshore installations.
-
With the expertise of our service technicians, we ensure maximum safety and efficiency for our customers.
The Axzion Upending Tool was developed for the heaviest monopiles, with a load capacity of up to 1,500 tonnes and an adjustable gripping range of 4.5 to 6.5 meters. Thanks to advanced PLC control, hydraulically self-locking grippers, and redundant drives, safe and efficient operation is guaranteed at all times.
We are proud to have contributed to this pioneering project – and we look forward to further collaborations with DEME!
