Traverse specialist Axzion SpanSet handed over the largest uppending tool it has ever built to the customer on February 15, 2022. At the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) in Emden, everything went smoothly! These were the last functional tests on the 110-ton grab before final approval. Two harbor cranes were used to lift the tool. The client was satisfied with all the tests and took delivery of the upending tool. It is now traveling to an offshore wind farm in Taiwan. There it will erect monopiles weighing up to 1,800 tons. The Upending Tool was fully assembled for the first time a few weeks ago at Axzion’s site in Neustrelitz (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern). Other Axzion and SpanSet sites in Übach-Palenberg, Langenfeld and Großefehn were involved in the planning and construction.
